On behalf of the amazing members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, Upsilon Iota Omega Chapter, welcome to our website. I have the distinct honor of serving as the 14th president of our illustrious chapter.
Chartered on December 16, 1995, by an extraordinary group of visionary women, our chapter has grown to more than 68 members who serve Lafayette County.
Under the leadership of our 31st International President, Danette Anthony Reed, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® remains a necessary 21st-century service organization that addresses some of the greatest human rights, civil rights, and social issues in our society today. The sorority’s 2022-2026 International Program Initiatives under the platform of Soaring to Greater Heights of Service and Sisterhood, addresses community needs with programs in six target areas:
· Strengthen Our Sisterhood
· Empower Our Families
· Build Our Economic Wealth
· Enhance Our Environment
· Advocate for Social Justice
· Uplift Our Local Community
